Kullu a small town in the bosom of nature, strategically situated on the way to Manali on National highway at an altitude of 1220 m. The charming Kullu Valley is known as the Valley of the Gods.

The river  Beas flowing close by amidst bountiful hills. The kullu once known as  Kulanthpitha, means the end of the habitable world.

Kullu attractions include the Apple orchards can be seen in the central and the widest part of the valley, Katrain lending  charm and prominence to the place which is located about 20kms. from Kulu on way to Manali, 

Akhara Bazaa where Kullu caps, shawls, 'pattoos', gudmas, 'puhlas' and 'namdas' or rugs can be purchased as a memento to this place.The Sultanpur Palac containing some fine examples of the Kullu style of miniature painting, characterized by simple rural scenes and the lack of human subjects

Besides the natural splendor of kullu valley, the kullu is also famous for Dussehra fair. The most popular and colourful festival of the place when lakhs of pilgrims visit Dussehra .During its colorful Dussehra Festival, decorated palanquins convey gods and goddesses from temples all over the valley to Kullu, to pay homage to the reigning deity Raghunathji.The valley is also famous for its exquisitely woven colourful hand made shawls and kullu caps.

Kullu  also  a convenient base for variety of adventure sports specially for trout hatchery .Aut on the Mandi-Manali highway at the entry point to the Kullu Valley, where the road enters the Mandi - Largi gorge,reservoir of the Pandoh Dam, the entire reservoir , Aut and Largi are excellent places for angling. 

Larji 34kms South of Kulu, Banjar At a distance of 58 kms. south of Kulu, is an excellent spot for trout fishing in the waters of river Tirthan. If you a looking for a place in solitude as well as want to enjoy fishing the clear white sand at the Parvati riverat at Kasol is the ideal destination for you . 

The place is well known for trout fishing or may enjoy sight seeing while trekking on the mountain  their are unlimited number of trek route , the most popular  treks are from Chanderkhani Pass and to remote valley of Malana. Naggar is the base for you to start your journey 

Places of Interest 

Naggar (1760 m): Once the capital of Kullu delightfully situated on the left bank of the Beas, on a wooded slope and commands an extensive view. It was the capital of erstwhile Kulu state for about 1400 years. There are large number of famous temples notably Vishnu, Tripura Sundari & Lord Krishana. .the paintings Russian artist, can be seen along withhis sculptures at  Roerich art gallery. is less than a km. from the Castle.

Akhara Bazaar: Known as one of the main bazaar, where Kullu caps, shawls, 'pattoos', gudmas, 'puhlas' and 'namdas' or rugs are sold in plenty.

Raghunathji Temple : This temple was built by Raja Jagat Singh to house the image and even today, is greatly revered. The shrine houses an image of Shri Raghunath in his chariot. Raghunathji is the principal deity of the valley.

Bijli Mahadev temple 10kms. from Kullu across the Beas river, Bijli Mahadev temple is one of the striking temples in the temples strewn district. It can be reached by a tough but rewarding climb of 10 kms. trek. From the temple a panoramic view of Kulu & Paravati valleys can be seen. 

Vaishno Devi Temple :At a distance of 4 km along the Kullu to Manali road a small cave enshrines an image of Goddess Vaishno Devi.

Jagannathi Devi Temple : This temple is in Bhekhli village, 3-km from Kullu. It's a stiff climb but from the temple one can catch fine views of the town


Bajaura (15 km from kullu ) is on the main road where Basheshwar Mahadev temple is situated believed to have been built in the mid 8th century.about 200 m from the village in a plain between the main road and the Beas river. 

Manikaran (45 km from Kullu at a height of 5700 ft) : Famous for its Hot Springs which is believed to be good for rheumatism, gout, muscular pain etc. The water is so hot that the Dals, Rice etc. can be boiled in it. It is well known Pilgrimage place on account of Ancient Hindu Temple of Lord Ram and a Gurudwara.

The best time to visit :-  The best time to visit is between April to early July and again from September to November

By Train 
Nearest Railhead is at Joginder Nagar , Chandigarh is more handy.
By Road 
Kulu is 220 Km from Shimla, 265 from Chandigarh, & 258 from Pathankot
